Hello there!

I hope you’re having a good day. Welcome to my first monthly message. Do you remember signing up for this? I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve forgotten as it’s taken me quite a while to write it – probably because I was trying to work out what to say! I’m still not 100% sure, but what I am sure about is that they’ll have some news, but also practical stuff, along with info that I find interesting…

I’m really pleased that my new book, How To Be Unicorn Happy (US AmazonUK Amazon), has just been released! And I love how it has turned out. How To Be Unicorn Happy is a natural progression from my You Are A Unicorn book. Inspired by my Instagram feed (please follow@youareaunicornbook), it has inspirational quotes, uplifting pictures, and tons of simple techniques to help you identify the happiness in your life and then build on it. I’ve been using the techniques in this book for years, and can honestly say they’ve really helped me – and continue to help me – become a happier person.

In other good news, I now have a brilliant writing agent representing me – Laetitia Rutherford from Watson, Little in London. Laetitia is currently in talks with publishers about releasing You Are A Unicorn in new territories, and I’m in the process of updating the book’s content with even more unicorn positivity. Please send me your good vibes as I’d love to be able to share my work with as many people as possible and this could really help me achieve that.

As much as I try to spread positivity, it’s probably worth pointing out that I’m not always brimming with confidence and a happy outlook. I suppose that’s why I started working on my happiness journey in the first place. I started this year feeling pretty confused about where my life was going and spent a couple of months mulling it over, trying to find THE ANSWER that would solve everything. I knew there wasn’t really one amazing revelation that was going to magically sort everything out – but wouldn’t it have been great if there was! Anyway, I came to these three conclusions (but continue to think about it):

These conclusions lead to me making some changes:

* I aim to start each day with affirmations and meditation, and generally eat better (that said, I just had a BIG bar of chocolate!)
* I try to spend time each day focussing on gratitude and helping others. After all, my life’s not just all about me
* And I’m also trying my best to enjoy each day as it comes, whatever happens

Doing these things isn’t always easy, and I don’t manage them some days. But focussing on stuff like this has really started to help me get in touch with where I’m going. How To Be Unicorn Happy has more techniques that will help too.

I suppose now is a good place to point out you can always email me about how you’ve overcome things or with suggestions for these messages. I’d love to hear from you! Please message me at MrUnicorn@soupermedia.com

However the start of your year has gone, I hope you’ve enjoyed the good bits and have learnt from any challenges you may have had. Thanks for reading this email. I’ll try and write another one soon!

Vincent
